So long story short, I happened to delete my games and started fresh after some negative feedback online. I acted on my emotions and it was dumb. I'm however starting over with a new project and it's close to being completed, just need to create final level, polish things and so on
I have made a decision to cancel the horror visual novel I was working with, Antisocial. The project is not something I wish to continue after thinking about it's meaning and the themes it contains. It's way too bleak and depressing, and while I have made that kind of games before (Are You Happy 2), it doesn't feel fun to do anymore....
So I realized that any projects I have done this year haven't been actually finished. I have released a prototype/demo and I did finish Crypta: Depths of Darkness but that was started last year. I'm not really bothered by this, we all have unproductive year sometimes. And besides, there's still plenty of time.
I decided to start working on a small project that I would finish during the weekend, a post-apocalyptic game where player needs to find last survivors after robot invasion, or something like that, still working on the details of it.
I read an article about former Bethesda developer who left the studio in 2023 and it made me think about the future of Elder Scrolls. So, today I looked back at the games I've made, and results kind of depress me. Lot of poor slop titles made in very short time. I need to do better. I'm planning to cancel all of my current projects except Crypta, which I want to finish. After that it's off to the drawing table and planning what I want...
So I don't normally share thoughts like this, but this has been on my mind for a very long time. I see people constantly say stuff like "goal of a business is to make money". I'd like to disagree with that statement, as controversial as it sounds.
So, around one month of development and Crypta is almost ready for it's public release. Sure, the finished build is quite lacking in features and content but I want to do early access-type of release in order to make Crypta: Depths of Darkness better game than what came before it.
It's been a long time since I've again written anything to this website or even visited here. This website went pretty much unused until now. I feel like this is a great way to share news and updates regarding my games.
So I haven't been using my website since I created it, but I guess I could write something here to fill the blog with some content.
